Nutrition And Education for Life (NeVié)

One billion people, or a seventh of the world’s population, are hungry. When hungry, a malnourished child is nine times more likely to die compared to a healthy child (World Hunger Statistics). Malnutrition is a deadly epidemic caused by difference factors such as hunger, illness, poor nutrition, wars, poverty and lack of education about the disease.

The NeVié campaign was created after we discovered and evacuated 1,800 severely malnourished internally displaced children (IDPs) from the insurgent, Boko Haram’s stronghold in North East Nigeria.

NeVié is focused around community advocacy, local production of Ready-to-Use-Therapeutic Foods (RUTF), and provision of post Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) nutritional kit for children recovering from malnutrition.
