Nutrition And Education for Life (NeVié)
One billion people, or a seventh of the world’s population, are hungry. When hungry, a malnourished child is nine times more likely to die compared to a healthy child (World Hunger Statistics).
Malnutrition is caused difference factors such as hunger, illness, poor nutrition, wars, poverty and lack of education about the disease.
The NeVié campaign was created after we discovered and evacuated 1,800 severely malnourished internally displaced children (IDPs) from an IDP camp in the insurgent group, Boko Haram’s stronghold in North East Nigeria.
Malnutrition is an epidemic killing African children. In 2018, over 17 million children suffered from Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) in Nigeria (UNICEF).
NeVié is focused around community advocacy, local production of Ready-to-Use-Therapeutic Foods (RUTF), and provision of post Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) nutritional kit for children recovering from malnutrition.

Ready-to-Use-Therapeutic Foods (RUTF) is similar to a fortified “peanut paste” carefully formulated with other ingredients to provide all of a child’s basic nutritional needs, has been medically proven to save lives of severely malnourished children at the brink of death.
Through the support of the Australian Government, we have established a small-scale production facility in Nigeria to locally produce RUTF to be freely given to severely malnourished children in the country.
